This was waiting for me when I got home from work today. Was too excited not to fit it straight away.

Another top job from Royal Steering Wheels

Now need to send off my S-Tronic shift boot to them so they can make a new one to match the wheel before I fit it and my fancy new knob!
That looks incredible, how much of a ball ache is it to remove the wheel? I am always worried that my airbag will go off.

First time I've done an Audi one but the airbag release is pretty much the same idea as the BMWs. Only difference is you release it from the back of the wheel rather than the sides. The airbag is held in place with a spring clip that runs along the insider face of the wheel and holds the airbag in at two points. You turn the wheel one way to get access to a hole on the back of the wheel and you then stick a screw driver in and give it a wiggle. That releases on side of the airbag, then you do the same again, turning the wheel the other way. After that you just let the airbag rest in place whilst you disconnect the negative terminal of the battery in the boot.

Now you just release two electrical connectors behind the airbag to disconnect it,. Set it aside and then undo a single star-bolt before pulling the wheel off.

Couple of torx screws inside to release the trim and it all comes off in a oner. Much easier than the M4/M5/M6 that I've done before.

Very difficult to set an airbag off to be honest. You'd need to be very ham-fisted I reckon.

Why is it the subtlest of changes require the most amount of bloody work??? Bought a spare rear diffuser and had it painted gloss back. Usual story, half the car needs to be dismantled to swap it! Took me a couple of hours after work to get this done.

Gave it a wash as well.

That's the only reason I bought this. When I'm finished buggering about, I'll need to sell it!

I am looking at cars again, and I have a long weekend approaching!!

Trouble is getting out of my town is easy, getting back in is a bloody nightmare with Motorways turned into Lorry Parks and grid lock!

That looks really good.

I bought mine as a first try of an Audi and for it to be my daily runabout. I will mod it as i usually do with all my cars but not to my usual extreme leveL, i still need to keep money in the bank for the new car arrival next spring.

I’ve had a few Audi’s now and I’m really enjoying this. It gets stick for not being as dynamic as a Cayman etc but it’s really planted and very easy to drive fast. It feels like a wee go-kart.

I’ve still never had a Merc yet but they just don’t make anything comparable really.

We got paired up with a couple from Kent for one of our activities in London at the weekend and they were saying the same thing.

I have to admit having run a GT4 for a few years nothing really comes close to that. I do have to agree with you though that this a lot of fun and does feel quite nimble. I honestly am enjoying my first experience into AUDI ownership and looking at how the car behaves once i have finished tinkering with it.

One for the Porsche boys lol

I never found it short on power but a GT4RS would tick all the boxes, never likely to get my hands on one though.

Rieger front splitter finally arrived today and it was a nice night so decided to get tore into fitting it along with the matching Maxton side blades and rear spats.

Spacers to go on next, probably get them done tomorrow. I'm still not 100% on the black wheels but the extra black that the splitter kit provides helps them tie in with car a bit better. I'm really pleased with how this is looking now, especially from the front.

Loving that, cant wait to get all my bits fitted once i get back from work at the end of the month.

I think the black wheels work great with everything else.

How do the rear bits fit on the rear bumper is it just tape?

I used VHB tape on everything as well as the screw fixings supplied. The rear spats are nut & bolt through the underside. The rest are all self-tappers. The splitter has about 40 bloody screws in it!
