I enquired about this, however it sold within 2 days.

What do you think price/spec wise?

Was looking to put an offer in for 45k but didn't get the chance.

Lovely looking car, I would not have black interior though (not when Ebony & Ivory is available, it is so special) I would have to have an opening Pan roof as well, as its lovely for an open top feel. Deployable side steps are so cool as well !

100pc agree.

In you opinion would my offer have been fair?
It would have been a straight cash purchase. I suppose finance or cash doesn't matter so much to the dealer these days?

How would you have played it?

Probably go in low at £43.5 ! but I would not buy that car, its not the spec I'd want. Some people are happy to buy the newest car they can, I prefer to buy an older, less miles example that is specced to the Nines !!

Valid point Boba,

My predicament is, has to be at ULEZ compliant. As trips into London are regular. ( they are also extending the zone too).

a 2016 AB is only 5k give or take off a facelift. Factor in the LR warranty of the AUC, and the gap is closer.

The facelift is nice, and we could have got one / added a little more, but the options on our car are lovely. The biggest tick my wife wanted though was the interior, it is after all where you will be most of the time (I can see why it might raise an eyebrow if you have kids but its more hardy than you think) Have you heard the Signature Reference audio system?

Not yet bud. Our XJ has the Bower n Wilkins 1200w. Which I think is great.

I suspect the acoustics may be much better in the RRS with laminated glass.

Personally I prefer the black interior. I have two kids and a dog so lighter colours just aren't practical and having had the Silverstone interior in my M6 I wouldn't have it again.

Only thing I miss on our HSE Dynamic is the better sound system. The non-Meridian version is pretty shite. Rear climate isn't a big deal for me and although the Autobiography seats look nice, the standard ones are very very good. Ours has the sliding pano roof. Not sure if that or just a fixed pano-roof is standard on the HSE Dynamic.

I totally get the attraction of going for a newer model on these as the ICE on the earlier models is woeful and the digital instrument cluster is completely underutilised with virtually zero customisation. The whole dash set-up on the facelift model is infinitely better than the older one I have. If I were financing and had the option of the facelift I would definitely take an HSE Dynamic over an older Autobiography BUT I wouldn't go any lower than that. The Dynamic mode changes the car and is like the Land Rover version of the M mode on the M cars. It's not a just an adjustable suspension and throttle map either, it's a whole complex system that actively reduced body roll in the corners.

I see the one with the kit has the newer ICE set-up before the facelift. I know its a mile better than the earlier one I have as well. Juts not sure I'd want to shell out £56k for an older looking car.

Excellent points stone.
I believe the dynamic has fixed pano with sliding as an option.
You have definitely sold me on the dynamic. I just wish the prices were not so skewed. Some dynamics are 47k and others 52k with similar miles and spec.

P.s I linked the 56k one with the kit to show LR are buying/trading cars with the LUMA kit which I thought was pretty cool.

Yeah that's interesting considering BMW & Audi and the likes would send something like that within their respective marques straight off to auction.

Exactly!

There is also another hse which has some aftermarket wheels.

As well as a dynamic which has svr badging all over it.

Both on the auc site.

OK guys. Advice needed re detailing please.

I have a decent machine flex 3401. So can happily mop up the car.

However never used a ceramic coating before. Has anyone done this DIY?

Worth using a derailer?

Or not worth cc and stick with wax etc?

Ceramic coatings can be done as a DIY but best left to a detailer for proper results. There’s a bit more discussion on them here:
