For pitted I use very fine wire wool 0000 is the finest grade always try finest grade first, I just put some mothers metal polish or any other metal polish on it, I also have foam cones for battery drill if needed , but I have not used them much

Tried this stuff yesterday on pitted tips, can’t say it’s any better than brasso or other metal cleaners in all honest. Probs wouldn’t buy again for that job.

Did you use a drill attachment?

I did mine the other day with this:

They all seem to be very similar. No better not worse than Autosol or any of the other metal polishes that look like that bluish/off-white paste you seem to get.

Just a damp cloth as per the instructions, I rubbed for ages!
I would use a cone or other drill attachment and it should come back like new. All the metal polish are pretty similar.
