I really don't get what they're trying to do with the grill and these side bits that have flags at each end? I get that this is a render but if it looks like this, it'll be the first CS anything that looks worse than the normal version.

It does look stuck on, most of that tat has been around from DH gate for as long as I can remember, and if you squint a bit there is still a bit of 406 coupe in the M4!

What ever happened to nice arches and unique coachwork that's sets a special car (and lets face it, its going to carry the CSL badge) apart from the rest. I know the last CSL was not all testosterone, but it made best use, and improved upon, a fantastic, compact, timeless body shape that still looks almost perfect today.

I do know it will be good though, it can't afford not to be.

You know, that really strikes a chord with me. It’s an excellent point. They’re just not bothering their arse much these days!

Hopefully they have learned there lesson on product and pricing.
Do you recall the debacle of the M4GTS and the M3/4CS variants last time?

The official line of course was they were all sold out (to dealers of course end customers hmm see below).

Mon reality we all saw them with about £20k off list price sitting on the dealership. Aside from a few super keen and fairly rich fans it doesn’t feel like that extra £40k above a Conmp car was deemed good value by the general public.

This time round the pricing is of course going to be just as eye watering but will it deliver more?

From and handling and dynamics perspective M are definitely on a good run of form, so will be fascinating to see how these are. I am sure I will have a G8x at some point. I've wanted a M3 touring forever, but I am now more inclined to keep the 340 tourer we have and get the new M2. If that's xdrive then a nice contrast to the GT4.

The best bit out of all of that article is the part about the engine being euro 7 compliant so will be around for the end of the decade potentially... As for the car, no doubt a monster to drive but looks a bit M4 driven into Halfords IMHO..

It’s a bastardisation of the CSL concept.
How can they transform that 2 tonne lump into something lightweight worthy of carrying the CSL name.

A marketing ploy for those types that love a marketing ploy.
