Hey @moonstone.

Sorry for this silly question, but I’m not that mechanically minded!
I wanted to ask you which bit under the sill you placed your axle stands at please?
From one of your pics, it looks like right on the edge of the sill.
I have Carbon side skirts, so unsure if I could put the stand there or not?

I’m needing to stick my two stands under the front also to fit a new splitter & corners.

And advice is greatly welcomed mate.
Cheers!

Must just be the photo because you would never put a Jack or axle stand on your sill on ANY car or else this happens:

I put my axle stands as close as possible to the jacking point and in-line with it I know it’s on the chassis rather than the bodywork.

Thanks a lot mate.

I’m very weary of doing it, as I’ve never done it before. Only ever jacked the car up from one side.
But I’d like to have both sides up this time, to make it easier for fitting the splitter!

I know what you mean. To be honest. there's plenty of clearance if you just drive onto a couple of ramps, home made or otherwise. So if you're not keen on jacking it up etc, just drive onto a some planks or get yourself a couple of these:

Sounds like a plan @moonstone!

My motor’s been a bit neglected seeing as I’ve been playing with the wives so I gave it a wash and made sure the roof still works. Some really weird marks on the paint that are quite rough. Dunno if it’s road salt. Polished some of them but will need to give it a proper going over. Anyway think the driveways looking pretty decent.

Very nice car. I much preferred your previous RS5 though but then I am an Audi man through and through. ;)

Although, perhaps not for much longer!

I had a software update for my Roadtop CarPlay box and noticed that there’s an option to change the BMW logo that appears in CarPlay as well as change the default boot up screen that sometimes appears if the unit boots up from cold (you don’t see it often but it’s a pretty rubbish generic Starfield with CarPlay on it that doesn’t fill the whole screen.

This is such a daft wee thing but I made my own on photoshop to update the BMW icon to the latest and a boot up screen that looks a bit more OEM. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that tickle me the most!

My car is covered in swirls 😫

it’s my own fault. I need to adopt a stricter wash regime. Anyway booked in for a correction and ceramic coat in August. In the meantime I gave it a bit of TLC today in the form of Poorboys Blackhole, a new boot spoiler and a chrome rear M4 badge (smaller version like the M340i). I feel the black badge doesn’t go with any of the others on the front or sides.

Also the RKP style spoiler I bought is total shit quality and although looks good from the side, I was never happy from the rear. So bought a nice new one from SSD Carbon.

Been looking at cars a lot lately but I think this is a keeper for a while yet.

Got some carbon kidney grills on order and I’m thinking about carbon side gills as well.

Does look well.

For me, carbon kidney grills have to be matched up with side vents and mirror caps, but only if with carbon side blades- sorry :ROFLMAO:

Well I’ve got the mirror caps and the side blades on already. But I’m thinking the same. Hence the side vents. I’ll end up buying them.

Yes, that was my 'sorry' - it's essential I'm afraid
