Agreed a deal to out the RS4 and should hopefully be picked up on Saturday.
I think I'll regret it given it's in great condition and only 21k miles, but I've started a new contract (wfh and then walk to work in Canary Wharf) and I can see it'll become a bit of a luxury for the next 12 months - used only at weekends to take the dog to / from Epping forest for a run. Coupled with big service coming up, warranty renewal in July and perhaps the brakes will want doing at some point this year, sensible thing is to probably let it go whilst it still has 5 months of an Audi AUC warranty on it that's transferable to a private buyer. With the price I paid v sale price, it will have only cost me c. £250/month since July 2019 (excl tax, insurance, fuel) which seems relative value.
So plan is replace it with something for around £15K to run for a year. Weekend car, relatively nice that can fit a medium sized dog and can take some motorway use up/down to Midlands and South West to see family when lockdown ends. Also to use for UK "staycation". Plan is then to sell towards end of year and perhaps pick up something a bit more juicy for another 2-3 month euro jaunt in early 2022 (maybe a B9 RS4 or C7 RS6). So criteria is reliability, petrol, ULEZ friendly, dog friendly, relatively discreet for LDN street parking, won't shit itself in value in a year when I sell and not an SUV.
Keep leaning towards MkVII Golf GTi's (again!) but what else should I be thinking about ?
Help me chaps !
