Howdy all :)

Seeing as this place is new (and easy to use), just thought I'd share some pics of my car & mention a bit about myself... I've deliberately just taken these photos now, as it's how the car looks most of the time; wet & dirty! :ROFLMAO:
So it's a pretty fair representation.
I bought it as a retirement present to myself in November 2017, it was a pre-registered 5 month old demo car.
I retired at 49 years old (due to injury) after just short of 30 years in the Police. And yes.... I was a 'traffic rat' for the best part of 18 years, cars & motorcycles. Absolutely loved it. Please don't hold that against me, i'm OK really, honest! LOL...
As a bit of a car nut, what else can one do to (legally) blat around the county in fast cars & chase scroats? I rest my case 🙂. To be honest, I'm so glad I'm out now, I wouldn't wish being a copper on anyone these days.
Having free time is great (in normality anyway). Lots of time to drive the car, ride my bike (second hobby & motorbike, not these self-pedal things!), and anything really that takes my fancy. The wife still works part time which suits me very well! There's a couple of snaps of my bike at the end, just for good measure.
Anyway. Enough rabbiting on. The main additions to the car are mostly small cosmetic ones, which the photos will show. Unseen ones include various bits of coding, downpipes, MPE, stage2 BM3, Eibach Pro's, Bilstein B6 Damptronics & soon to be fitted AP front brakes.
Anyway, if you're reading, a warm "Hello" & thanks very much!
Jon.

Very nicely done. You've got all the right bits on that!

Where did you get the carbon light switch surround and did it come with the chrome accents on it or did you get those separately? (Ive got those and fancy a carbon surround but was worried it might not fit around those) Also what about the door pull carbon bits? Where'd you get them from and how do they attach?

I've got the same rear splitter as you. Really brings the lower lines of the car together IMHO. With the side blades on and the OEM type rear splitter, from the side it's as if it suddenly stops, where as the Vorsteiner type one links it all up nicely.

Cheers mate.
The light switch surround & air-con surround are actually c/f gel stickers. TBH, I think they look ok. Didn't want to fork out £00's on carbon. They came from good old AliExpress. About £5 & £11 respectively.
The door handle pieces are also from there. They're just plastic, but c/f hydrodipped I believe. Again, I think they look ok to be fair. Were about £7. They just stick onto the existing plastic. Come with tape already applied.
If you want me to look, I'll see if the links are still live in my AliExpress purchase history.
Agreed, re the rear diffuser, I'm glad i went for the 3-piece one. love how it wraps around the sides.

Did you see what I meant about the colour match on the steering wheel? @moonstone
It's really close to the sakhir Orange.
Totally. I asked for this at first but Jack said he couldn’t guarantee a match so I went with black. Looks like I needn’t have worried.

So, I collected this little lot earlier today.

I just need a nice dry day to get them on. Don’t do working in the rain any more.

Nice one Jon! I just realised that despite chatting with you plenty over various forums, I'd never actually seen your car! Looks great, and looking forward to hearing how you like the new brakes. Is it RS29 pads going on?
That's what my Alcon kit came with, but I've switched the rears to DS2500 as it's the rears which cause the majority of the squealing.
I should maybe do one on my M4!

Pagid RST3 pads have come with them. I’ve no idea what they’ll be like tbh.

They’re more a satin finish I’d say. They’re Pro5000R calipers. Yes, braided steel lines mate.
It’s all BTCC stuff, so very reasonable replacement consumables can be had, that have only done one session. Which is a massive bonus.

Expect to see a mini build thread with your brakes!

Love the wheels - they look so much easier to clean than the usual 666m's

I am pretty sure the finish is anodised. I was quite keen on these but Malc Buck said not ideal on a daily used in winter, so will be interested to hear how you get on with them. They're a lot lighter than my Alcons that is for sure.

Yes anodised. It’s a grey satin-looking finish.
I know mate, I remember our discussion earlier on this year. I don’t do big miles now. Especially in the winter months. I went in with my eyes open though, and with the intention of an annual service on them if needs be. Time will tell.
Yes, the weight is something else. It’s spooky how light they are. Each caliper, with braided steel line, pads, clips & mounting bracket is only 4.6kg!

I’m making a headlight replacement in carbon if your interested. Here a pic of one I got done for a customer
