Just bought one. Small Subaru dealership. Car was bought from them a year ago and traded in recently when it came in for a service (for a newer model).

2 owners. Just had new discs and pads all round and all 4 wheels refurbed. 2 year RAC warranty with a £5k claim limit, £500 off the sticker price and free delivery.

Looks like a great car and the salesman was the first I’ve spoken to in the last three days who wasn’t desperately telling me whatever I wanted to hear to get a deal.

To put that into contrast. Hull Audi wouldn’t take a penny off this and wanted to charge me £500 to deliver it!

Very nice. What grey is that? Looks great anyway, similar combo to my D5 of bluey grey and dark wheels.

Yes. It was fairly local to me and a private sale with about 6 owners! Plates were hidden on the ad and the seller never returned my calls.

These things are worse than than BMWs. Ive already spend 400 quid on bits and I’ve not even got it yet!

I do live a Range Rover. Looks lovely. A SVR bumper in on my shopping list (or a lower front splitter but not found any) and something to do away with the comical rear pipes like valence and new style pipes, think is all they need.

Congrats I think you will love it.
Already looking at those on EBay!

Front bumper or the whole lot ?
Just browsing in general. It’s a marque I’ve never had before so I don’t know much about modding them.

Theres surprisingly little info online about updating to the newest heater and stereo controls etc as well. I thought that would be a popular mod.

As for the SVR kit. I’d probably get a non-OEM lookalike kit for front and back but dunno yet.

I wouldn’t bother with the new heating controls assuming you mean the twin digital screens ones ?

look good but no more useful if less so actually than conventional buttons

re ICE there are quite a few retrofit wide screen Android based units out there which interface with the factory CANBUS

Also spend a bit of time here for most questions you can imagine:

And these people come up quite regularly when talking ICE retrofits pn the various LR/RR fora

yeah I’m less interested in the heater controls and more so the newer nav unit/display but I’ll bet the controls, screen and steering wheel controls are all linked into the new brain.

Have looked at the Android screens seem very pricey in comparison to the BMW versions. This will probably be the route I go down though.

Thanks for those links mate. I’ll have a read through. Much appreciated. 👍🏻🍺

Not driven it get but after fan m ting about with it for ages it’s now throwing up a gearbox fault, HSC fault and DSC unavailable. Lights on the shifter are flickering as well. Everything was fine till I had a play with the electric Towbar. Checked the battery and it’s at 11v. From what I read online they’re really sensitive to battery issues. Have it charging up all night and will check in the morning. If that doesn’t cure it it might be going back without us ever having driven it!

Had the AA out this morning. The guy hooked it up to his computer. The Gearbox selector itself, a module or wiring related to one or either is fucked which is throwing up the errors and the car is preventing it from going into gear for safety reasons. He disconnected the battery for a bit and cleared the faults. I was able to go from P to R and back to P before the faults came back up. Managed to move it about and get Sharleen's car out by using the manual override under the cupholders to put it in N.

In an unrelated issue glowplugs on cylinders 1 and 2 are shagged also. Just an age/mileage thing. The fault for those wouldnt clear and then did but he thinks that was just because the car was sufficiently warmed up.

Spoke to the dealer. Without hesitation they were really apologetic and asked me to get it booked into a JLR specialist (but not the main dealer) and they would cover all the costs including getting it recovered, diagnosed and repaired. So spoke to Monarch Land Rover in Glasgow who are a specialist. The car won't move till next week but the burd their is phoning me later on to arrange to get it booked in.

Considered rejecting it and maybe I'm making a mistake by not doing so but the car is an ultra-clean example and I've got masses of paperwork all showing JLR servicing for its entire life up till it's last service. One owner from new till last year and then 1 owner after that. I'm hoping that this is a blip on what is otherwise a good example, fingers crossed.

Definitely not off a good start in our Land Rover ownership experience...

I would be inclined to return. Odd that this all happens when you receive the car.
