Looking at seeing if maybe some Tuners do any black friday deals, was looking at a map on our 2.0TSi 230 Tiguan (basically same engine as Golf GTI). It remaps to 300bhp or there abouts, but who are the tuners of choice these days?

I have a Celtic Tuning map on my 335d and had no issues in the 3 years its being on but some people don't like them, theres a Revo tuner up the road in Guildford.

Really want somewhere relatively local so an agent of a big tuner would be fine, or even mobile if its do-able.....

Suggestions anyone?

I have used Celtic tuning on quite a few cars, never had an issue and they have always been a good map with good gains. Have used various others, like DMS (there quoted high gains are fictitious) Quantum and King Maps and I would choose Celtic all day long for a generic flash map.

Celtic also really specialise in the VW's and have got them just about right, and at £250 they can't be beaten.

APR and REVO are what most people go for on VAG group cars.

APR
Revo

Are the two that most people go for with VAG's

Awesome GTI maybe?
AMD?

Not sure if they're good.

cheers guys

APR don’t even quote the Mk2 Tiguan n their website so that put me right off even if they do.

I’m leaning towards Revo as a name known for years in vw tuning and reseller up the road, but it’s about 200-300 more than Celtic, let’s see what Black Friday brings….

Both of them are expensive. I’ve mapped a few Vag cats but have always gone superchips. They’re maps aren’t as thrilling as some of the competition but they’re pretty decent in terms of price and you can buy a unit that lets you install and remove the map as you please.

It’s a bit too vanilla for folk that want serious gains though.

Revo have done a lot of work on my friends golf and he’s been very happy with their products. Definitely worth considering.

thanks all, I’m leaning towards celtic tunings emotion product to be honest, it’s a bit more than their remap but the convenience of being able to add and remove yourself. i‘ve no issues with their map on my 335d for the last 4 years so will likely give it a shot!

Well the Emotion arrived yesterday, I hooked it up to car and downloaded the standard map, sent it off to Celtic and got the Stage 1 file back in about 2.5 hours.

Rang insurance last night and added the remap for today (30 quid extra until March), and set off the upload to the car about 10:40. It took a fair bit longer than I expected so in future I will have the car on a charger as it took a good 30 mins with the ignition on to do its magic.

Lots of errors and warning on the dash about systems not available - to be expected.

Writing finished, ignition off and unplugged the device. Start the car, all is well no issues with any warnings.

Go out and wait till she's warmed up a bit and then holy moly it has substantially more power than before (around +70bhp on this engine), the rate it piles on the numbers is quite a difference from the standard car. Probably not the best conditions with greasy roads but from very low speed or pulling out in sports mode it was pretty easy to light up the fronts before the 4 motion kicked the rears in :D

All in all impressed so far, but will need to adapt after 3 years of it standard :)

Was only £65 more for the touch screen device so I can change the maps at will than having them come out and do it themselves. And a fair bit cheaper than then likes of Revo even on their Black Friday deals :)

My Bimmer is still quicker tho :p :D
