If they continue to make noise, I would swap out for normal discs and then replace when you come to sell.

it’s not as straight forward as that on the M5 apparently. I’m hoping the Porsche shims are the solution I need. Fingers crossed.

I’ve seen a fair bit of comment online about issues with bmw carbon braces squealing recently. It looked like replacing pads sorted it in the short term but it’s definitely something that crops up a lot, not ideal!
It doesn’t happen with all ceramics so it shouldn't be right, mine don’t make any noise really whether driven slowly or hard. Hope the shims do the trick 🤞

edit;
here’s some links to the discussion if any of it is helpful, (some m5 too) seems a jet wash was a short term fix with the g80 too;

I have only had one car with them, my previous M4CS and they were totally silent (and amazing) 99% of the time. Over 10k miles. It really does seem to be pot luck with how people get noise or not.
I’d love another set. !!

I think I've read just about every bloody forum thread on the internet about these now. Car has been silent on the way to work today. Lets see what it's like on the way home later.

Finally managed to find a set of the Porsche shims that are in stock, so picking them up tomorrow and will fit them straight away. If that doesn't cure it, I'm going to admit defeat and take it to a specialist to get some expert advice.

Fitted them tonight after work. Took the car for a hammering and so far so good. Don’t want to get my hopes up too soon so let’s see what they’re like in a few days.

Hope it works. Good job you are a dab hand at all of this. Think it would have taken me half a day to remove wheels and start fettling.

Usual story, once you’ve done something a couple of times it’s becomes a doddle.
