How you noticed anything different since fitting, quicker, more responsive, sound?

No difference in performance what-so-ever that I've noticed but more intake noise. Sounds more aggressive.

@Denso mine sounds very similar to yours but the pops and bangs aren't quite as prominent.

As for the front intake surround wrap on the front. I've done a few photoshops and I think most people screw this up by trying to make it too much like the RS front but the lines don't quite work on how most have wrapped it. Denso's is pretty much bang on as he hasn't wrapped over the front. I keep looking at TTRS front bumpers but I reckon by the time you get one sprayed and then buy all the ancillary bits required (most of which aren't on ebay secondhand) you're looking at around £2000.00 It's a lot of money for what is quite a subtle change.

How good do those yellow seat inserts look with the roof down!? (y) Are you going to do the roll-over hoops in black?

On the to do list but the next job is the diffuser and rear badges.

I also need to work out the best way to go with them as when I had a quick look into it the options were paint, wrap or buy new. One issue is they don’t come off the car without breaking / damage so depending on what’s possible I might be into buying new ones anyway. Audi do them in black but do know if they come in black or gloss so might have to buy new and paint as well.

I know absolutely nothing about wrapping so need to find someone local who can tell me if it can even be done.

Some follow the leader stuff going on here, I am sure of it!

R600 fitted (need to get that pipe, I wont sleep tonight with it looking like that! I have not drove it for a couple of weeks, but it did feel quick and even more free revving (might be placebo though!) noise was not really enough to warrant the cost, but It all might tie in with a new rolling road remap!

I had the day off today and before going out for an early dinner with the Mrs I decided to have a stab at the brakes. Big mistake. First one took me about an hour and the second one took me 20 minutes but only after I’d realised that I hadn’t put the jack in far enough and was deforming the entire side skirt 🙄. Felt sick when I realised and prayed for the best. Thankfully the whole bit is plastic and popped back into shape as soon as I lowered car back down. Talk about heart in mouth!…

Ran out of time so will do the rears tomorrow. I’ve done a few brake pad changes in my time and I’ll say this, the bastard that came up with the retaining spring design on the front pads on this car needs a punch in the nose!

All the while working on the car after noticing what I’d done, I kept thinking about this video…

Why the hell didn’t they put the same clips on top that the standard airbox comes with??

Also, why hadn’t anyone come up with an intake design that takes advantage of the big space that the battery would normally occupy on other MQB cars like the standard air box on the TTRS??

Kudos for doing it yourself. I paid for mine to get done but you will love the end result. They look great once on and you wonder why the car never came like this from factory.
Strangely i noticed that the TTRS has solid discs on the rear 🤷‍♂️

Really? I know most of the braking is on the front but I’m surprised at that!

I have done that with a jacking point before, pulled a whitey when I saw the sill cover flexing, but all was well.

I also done the RS Corner gloss black wrap on one side this morning, and it looked awful to me, looked just like what I had done, put a piece of Gloss Black vinyl over the bumper corner!!

Couple of things at @monnstone - what Discs are they and what Intake hose did yo go for please?

I felt physically sick. It’s the first time I’ve ever done it, but as you say, all was well in the end.

Intake hose is the silicone racing line one. I went for black but it comes in four colours.

The brakes are a complete set of Brembo Xtra pads and discs. @Denso has the same set. Best price I managed was from Autodoc. Part number below if you're interested:

Front Discs09.C306.1X£257.84
Rear Discs09.A200.1X£174.98
Front PadsP.85.160X£133.99
Rear PadsP.85.124X£56.99

Hoping it gives the car bit more stopping power as well as the looks as the standard brakes feel like a bit of a weak spot of the car for me, personally.

Well… I don’t have a 7mm Allen key in the shed and I’m too hungover to be arsed going out to get one. So Amazon it is and I’ll leave this job till tomorrow!
